A few months ago Machinima contacted me about doing a few Xbox Slim consoles customized with their branding. I just finished these up and shipped them off to Machinima today. I’m pretty stoked with the finished product. The side emblems are laser-cut acrylic, with custom wired LED backlights. The paint is a red enamel base coat with multiple layers of black acrylic wash applied with different techniques to achieve the desired grunge look.

This is a project my good friend Riley Planalp has been working on for over a year now. His first Majoras Mask was good, but this second version is truly a work of art. You will not find a more accurate representation of this mask. The end goal was to provide this beautiful mask for zelda fans who’ve always wanted to get their hands on one but never had the chance. One of the things that really puts this mask over the top is the way the painted details are designed. Every detail line on the mask is a slightly raised ridge, which makes the painting process incredibly easy. In addition to these 3d detail lines, Riley’s including a colored vinyl kit with decals that correspond to every detail, making the hardest part of finishing your mask incredibly simple.
